Has it really been Nov since I last posted!!!!

ooops!!

Well things have been a little crazy here!

Not even sure what I shared with you guys and what I haven't..lol

I have started a new job..did I mention that?

Training has been and is a little stressful!

There is just so much to learn and remember!

I bought a new(old) car..hahaha

It has tons of bells and whistles and it was taken really good care of!

So I am soooo thrilled to be driving it! Still getting used to it!

I am mostly ready for Christmas..have a few last minute things so Melanie and I have a date for tonight! The mall is going to be a nut house!!!!

LOL

On a more personal note..I have a new guy in my life!

I met him in Sept and I am very happy and I feel extremely lucky to have him in my life!

So as you can see I have been a wee bit busy!!!

Now with Christmas just around the corner..in case I don't get a chance to get back on..

Well our tree is up and the house is looking great! The outside is awesome with the Christmas lights...maybe I can take some pics soon...lol

My casual position is winding down..which really sucks! Only a few more shifts. So keep your fingers crossed for me that another position will come up!!

When we were at the Miniature Dollhouse show and sale this past Sept...Melanie and I saw this creature that someone had made. Melanie fell in love with it!! It was really cool looking..so we did try to find out if it was for sale or if she could order one but no response.

Well this Sunday is the miniature Dollhouse show and sale...

Am I ready???? I have no frikin clue!!

I have worked on a couple of pieces...made some birdhouses, a couple of display cabinets, some needled felted bears..so I guess I'm not going empty handed.

I probably won't get the time to take any pictures...now I am trying to get ready for the Doll and Bear show that's Oct 2...I really need to make a few more bears for that one.

So today I went for a walk and I actually got a cold nose!!! WAH!!!

Almost time to put the flip flops away..

Well I guess I will go and continue with my creative what not..lol..

Heat Wave

Well we are getting some record breaking hot weather here and trust me I am NOT complaining!!

LOL

Considering the month of June was literally rained out..maybe our Sept will make up for what we lost summer wise!

But despite all the heat..the leaves are slowly changing color...

Halloween stuff is out in stores and

I saw the first Christmas commercial...YES you heard me right!!

Now for those who know me...know how much I love Christmas

BUT

REALLY??!?

I am not ready to let go of summer yet!!!

LOL

So today I finished a new dog.....tried a new design and wasn't really sure what it was...until I got the opinion of my mom and Melanie...we decided it is a puppy!!! So I added a tail and voila!! A new doggie is born. I will add the finishing touches and post some pics soon. I also created some more mini dollhouse birdhouses for the show and sale in the next few weeks.

So that's about all that's been happening here at the home front. Hope all is well else where!!

Things are Looking Brighter

So it's seems my Karma has begun to change and things are getting brighter!

I have been offered a job with our Government in the health care department!!! It is incredibily hard to get on and I am soooo happy that I have been given this chance. It is a casual position to start but once you are in YOU ARE IN!!!

I will start in October.

So this month I need to crack down and make some bears for the October bear show and I also still need to make more minis for the Dollhouse show...that's this month!!!Oh Dear!!

I will figure it out!!

Going to a wedding in June so that will lots of fun....another night of dancing..

I actually went for a motorcycle ride..I haven't been on one of those for years. It was great!

Great Time!

Well we had a very rough start to our vacation!!!

Delayed by 10 hours!!

For those who fly within Canada stay away from Sunwing Airlines!!!

LOL

Supposed to fly out @ 3:30pm on Monday afternoon...

didn't fly out till 1:30 am Tuesday morning!!!

Was horrible!

Apparently Sunday morning a 4:00 am flight heading out to Cancun was hit by the belt loader and a put a whole in the plane!!!!

Everyone was on board already and had to disembark and those poor people waited 14 hours!!

So of course it was a snowball effect for all flights with that airline.

I know shit happens but when you lie to people that's when you are asking for trouble..which is exactly the treatment everyone got from them.

The amount of letters and complaints they are getting will be huge!!

BUT

even with all that we had an FANTASTIC time!! Stayed at a beautiful resort with great staff, food, and very warm weather!!!

Mom and I had one of those great Sundays where all we did was play and create minis!!

We tried new how-tos and made goodies for my new display!!

Everything has pretty much been hand made!! The 2 glass jars were bought but we added the stuff inside!! The container holding the mushrooms wasn't made by us either..not sure where we got it!

Mom made the jar of earth worms...which are disgustingly fantastic!!! She also made the poisonous mushrooms!!!

I can't tell you how MUCH fun I had putting this together!!

I hope it brings a smile to your face as it does mine EVERY time I look at it!!!

When I was lost in blog land the other day I came across a blog that showed how to take apart those cheap wood furniture pieces you can get at Michael's or the dollar store!!

You NUKE' it!!!

Stick them in the microwave for a few seconds(took us 30 secs) and the pieces just pull apart!!!

OMG toooooo easy!!!

So Mom cooked her furniture yesterday!!

Of course that opens the door to redoing furniture to our liking!!!

The wheels of imagination are turning!!!

I have been battling a nasty cold allll week. Sore throat , fever etc.

I tried to go to work on Wednesday and lasted a whole 45 mins...blah!!

I hate this!!!

I guess it's better now then when I'm on holidays!!!

What A Weekend!!!

To start it off I had a fantastic time in Victoria BC. I flew up on Thursday to celebrate my girlfriends B-day! Jo and I rented a room in downtown Victoria..this was our view...beautiful

Plus walking distance from the pub we were going to..so we could stumble back!!! HAHAHA

It was a great time..Monday I spent shopping!!

We are making plans for me to return this summer!!

Blooming Bear Show was Fantastic!!!

I did have a few issues with the Paypal buttons but thank goodness all my collectors knew what they were doing!!! Bless them!!

Well today I painted my next shelf for my room soooo that will be finished and I can get more organized with my stuff!!! There is an end in sight!!!

I did stop and take a few pictures of a mini shelf I made!! I will be adding some pretties to it and placing it on Etsy. I have plans on making some more..some filled some empty.

Would love to hear what you guys think...

It measures 5 1/2' tall and about 3 3/4" wide.

I had sooo much fun making this..I felt like a little carpenter...lol...I need to shop for more wood supplies so I can make some more!

The other pics I want to share are of the adorable little mushroom baskets my mom made! They are completely made with all natural material!!!

They will be for sale in our Etsy store...as soon as I can get them there!!!

It's mostly finished!!

WooHoo!!!

A completely different looking piece of furniture...amazing!!!

Mom and I were able to lift the top with much grunting...lol.....but we did it with only a small dent in the wall...and some bruising..hahahaha.....

We installed a light and now it's perfect!!!

Once the paint throughly dries I will take the sand paper to it and rough it up!!!

I'm so happy how it turned out...better then I hoped!!

I have one more tall cabinet to bring up from the basement and paint. then we need to find another one a little smaller or a corner unit cause I don't want to block this pretty display cabinet!!

I'm Getting There!!

I have finished the painting on the big display unit...

looks great!! I also added some paint to a few shelves. I also painted and add a purple background on the sweet box Melanie gave me for Christmas.

And we have decided that we are going to use my Mom's old dresser for the bottom of the display unit. It needs some serious work but in the end it saves me money and will work great. It has 6 drawers which I had to have for storage.

In the bear world I have 4 critters ready for the show!! I will work on one more and then I will be done!

March is my birthday and I share it with a friend of mine who lives in Victoria BC..not the same day but the same month!!

She has invited me to come and stay with her to celebrate her birthday!!!

I am sooo looking forward to seeing her again!It will be a nice mini holiday!!

I don't think I have ever traveled that far for a "Girl's Night Out"..hahaha..It will be fun!

The year started with a few bumps and bruises...my relationship has ended....and I really do wish him the best. Maybe one day we can be friends but for now time must heal all wounds.

Well the weekend started off very nice! A friend of mine made me dinner on Friday night!

Of course a couple glasses of wine...lol..

So I didn't get much done on Friday but Saturday I was a busy girl and primed both of my display units!

I need to get two glass shelves cut for the tall unit and I will get a couple of lights for the long unit.

It's coming together very well!!

Today I will put a coat of paint on the tall unit. Not sure if I have enough energy to do both today!

LOL

I also cut out the pieces for a new bear for the on-line show..I really wish I could show you the latest creations!!

New Carpet!!

Fresh Paint!

Here are some photos of the recent updates in my room. The new carpet is in...the guys were great and did a nice job..the only thing I have to do is touch up where the base boards used to be.

Computer desk painted, it still needs to be sanded down but it's back in the room!!

Just working along...

I finished my first coat of paint on my puter desk

It's looking really good and I've just finished a coat of primer on the left over pieces to the desk.

I hope to have the entire desk finished by the time the carpet is in so I can get that all set up and slowly work on the rest...that's the plan anyways BUT you know how these things can go..hahaha

I also finished another critter..I'm just debating on if I should sell her on ebay or save her for the on-line show!

I did list a mini bear on ebay he has a low starting price of $50.00 with no reserve...his link is on the side bar!

Here's my sweet Julie girl ! She is also a very good supervisor!

If only I could get her to paint!!!

Well the carpet dude will be here on Monday..woohoo...

due to some problems it had to be delayed but we are back on the go and

I worked on some of the furniture, got the majority of my puter desk primed and will work on the rest Saturday. Looking pretty shabby now....hahaha...can't wait for the chic!!!

I did take some pics but they didn't turn out so I will try again tomorrow.

However I did get a sweet picture of my baby who found a nice sunny spot!!!

I'm so happy!!! I found my carpet!!!

I went a completely different way with the carpet then I first thought I would get..

Here I thought I would go a light color like cream but we found this other carpet that is darker and has different colors in the weave. Purples and pinks and blues!!! Once my room is done the flow in here will be gorgeous! Plus it will be easier to keep clean between me and the animals..heehee.

It will all come together nicely with the painted furniture and all my goodies. I also got my paint for the furniture so I can start that asap!! Also the carpet should be in by the end of this week!!!

I saw a gorgeous chandelier at Rona to but I figure I can wait till next pay day for that one!!

MY POOR ROOM!!!

PLEASE tell me there is light at the end of this tunnel!!

K these photos are crappy but it's dark out and the lighting in here kind of sucks..hahaha

I hope you can see the difference on the wall. I only have the corner where my puter desk was and then I will work on a second coat!

Tomorrow afternoon Norm and I will go carpet shopping..I swear I am not leaving a store without carpet bought and installer to do the job!!!

Cause once that is done I think the fun really begins and I can slowly get my stuff back together.

Did I mention how much I hate having my room so displaced!

Definitely stems from my childhood and my father making us live in a construction zone!!!

Really can't handle it.....lol....
